devour-the-seven-princesses:
While they walked in, the fiery headed Knight slowed her steps for a moment, looking around and grinning. This was definitely her kind of place, low lighting, with black lights scattered throughout and loud music with a beat? All it was missing was alcohol and this could have become her new hang out spot. She looked ahead to see that he’d walked up to the counter, bobbing her head with the music, she easily caught up with him and watched as he paid for three games, glancing around every now and then. When asked for her shoe size, her head snapped back in his direction and listened to him tease.
Shura laughed, there was no way in hell she was going to wear those ugly bowling shoes. If she could exorcise demons in heeled boots, she could definitely bowl in them, but if she didn’t get the shoes, they’d get in trouble. Well, it wouldn’t kill her to just grab some shoes, that way they wouldn’t suspect her of keeping her normal shoes on. She glanced down to her own feet, clicking her heels together. Truth be told, Shura was rather petite when it came to shoes, anything else was a bit bigger, especially tops, but that wasn’t what they were asking, was it? She took out her phone, scrolling through her notes, trying to find her last one from going to the store.

“Size seven ‘n a half~” She proceeded to pocket her phone and look to Yukio, a smirk pulling onto her lips. “Unfair advantage? ‘m sorry, but yer tha one with glasses,” A small chuckle and she turned to see the man behind the counter carrying their shoes, taking hers, along with Yukio’s, she turned and began walking towards the area she could hear the music loudest from, only to remember that you had assigned bowling alleys. Pursing her lips in slight frustration, she turned, holding their shoes in her hands, which were also placed on her hips.
“Where d’ya get us put? I better be able ta hear tha music, Scaredy! ‘Cause this place has actually got some pretty decent jams.”
Yukio watched as Shura began to walk away with their shoes, and it was only until he heard the man behind the counter begin clearing his throat that he realized he wasn’t done paying him. “A-Ah, right… Sorry,” Yukio murmured as he pulled a few more bills out of his wallet. With that, he was assigned their lane number, where their competitive natures would shine brightly and take full reign over the entire bowling alley.
The younger Exorcist had never seen anything like this. He knew this was often referred to as “Midnight Bowling,” where strobe lights and blacklights and just about every kind of light Yukio normally stayed away from were brilliantly showcased. It was a bit dizzying for Yukio, not to mention how the music was pounding in his ears and already giving him a headache… but, despite all of that, he continued following after the fiery Knight. Bright blue eyes followed the signage on top of each lane in search of theirs, and once the number ‘12’ was spotted, Yukio began to head in its direction with a newfound sense of purpose.
“Lane 12, and I’m pretty sure you’ll hear the music even if our lane was outside,” Yukio spoke over the speakers which were currently blasting some sort of pop music that left Yukio feeling dirty. Once they were finally in front of their lane, Yukio sat down on one of the seats and took his shoes from Shura’s grasp.
Suddenly, Yukio found himself beyond excited… mainly because, even though Shura drove him crazy sometimes, competing against her made him feel ridiculously alive and always had, as if he had some sort of goal to work towards. He’d find some way to surpass her, even if it was by beating her at bowling. As Yukio was taking off his shoes and slipping on the goofy bowling ones, he couldn’t help but notice that Shura wasn’t even bothering to change out of her high heels. He rolled his eyes as he began to tie his laces, finding it to be absolutely ridiculous.

“Good luck bowling down a greased lane in heels, Shura,” Yukio smirked, “I won’t be carrying you home if you break your leg~.”
